For a long time my nighttime routine looked like most of the internet's: cleanser, toner, essence, serum, eye cream, moisturizer, and a facial oil to "seal it all in." Somewhere around step five most nights, I just stopped. Half a routine, most nights, isn't really a routine at all.
The problem wasn't the products
None of the products were bad. The problem was that a 7-step routine assumes you have the time and energy to do all 7 steps, every night, indefinitely. Most people don't — and skincare that only works if you're perfectly consistent isn't really working for real life.
What I do now
These days my night routine is three steps:
- Cleanse. That's it — just a clean, dry face to start.
- Apply the Puravie Overnight Bio-Collagen Mask. Smooth it on, press out any air bubbles at the edges.
- Sleep. The mask is designed to be worn for 3–8 hours, so it's already doing its job while I'm doing nothing at all.
In the morning, I peel it off and pat in whatever's left on my skin. No rinsing required. If I want to layer a moisturizer or SPF afterward, I still can — but most mornings I don't feel like I need to.
Why one step can cover what several used to
The mask is formulated with hydrolyzed collagen, oligo-hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and collagen peptides — ingredients that, individually, are the whole reason a lot of multi-step routines exist in the first place (a hydrating layer, a plumping layer, a tone-evening layer, a barrier layer). Putting them into one overnight hydrogel mask means you're not choosing between doing your routine and getting a full night's sleep.
Five minutes, most nights
I still keep a few extras around — a lip mask, an eye gel, a silk pillowcase — for when I want to do more. But on an average Tuesday, five minutes and three steps is enough. That's really the whole idea behind Puravie: skincare that fits into a real night, not a fantasy one. Wake up glowing.
